Chelsea could sign Nicolas Tagliafico for £22.4m as an alternative to Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell, according the Daily Telegraph.
The newspaper say Chelsea have been made aware that Tagliafico could cost significantly less than England international Chilwell.
Argentina international Tagliafico has impressed for Ajax and been tipped to leave the Dutch club – possibly for the Premier League.
And with Leicester reportedly demanding more than £40m for Chilwell, Tagliafico would be a significantly cheaper signing.
The Telegraph suggest Chelsea are therefore considering a move for Tagliafico, with Leicester showing no sign of lowering their asking price for their prized asset.
Chilwell has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time and Chelsea have long been tipped to make a move for him this summer.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki.
Several keepers have been touted as a possible replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga amid speculation the Spaniard could leave the Bridge when the transfer window opens.
The Sun claim Chelsea are lining up a £15m deal for Burki and that the Blues are “banking on a cut-price deal” as the Switzerland international only has a year left on his contract.
