‘Definitely going’ – Chelsea legend convinced Blues star will leave

Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin says he believes Pedro is “definitely going” and that the club can do without both the Spaniard and Willian.

Both players’ contracts expire this summer and it seems unlikely they will still be at Stamford Bridge next season.

But Nevin told West London Sport he believes Chelsea fans will not be worried about the prospect of those players moving on.

The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic are emerging and there is also the prospect of other attacking players being signed.

“Pedro is definitely going as far as I understand,” Nevin said.

“There is a question mark with Willian but will it be something that Chelsea fans will be overly worrying about? No.”

Boss Frank Lampard is also well stocked when it comes to midfielders – especially with Ruben Loftus-Cheek fit again – so he might well not play with wingers.

Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour are all competing for places.

Gilmour in particular is an exciting option, having impressed hugely for the first team so far.

“Pulisic is coming on, Callum is there and they won’t always play with wingers anyway because Frank plays with a 4-3-3,” Nevin said.
