Chelsea face Watford at Vicarage Road tonight amid mounting speculation over the future of Antonio Conte.
The Express say Conte could be sacked as Blues boss if his team fail to win this evening and that former Chelsea managers Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink are among the favourites to replace him at Stamford Bridge.
It follows several months of reports suggesting there is disharmony between Conte and the Chelsea hierarchy.
Conte has also been linked with a return to his former job as Italy boss, which he left in order to take over at the Bridge in 2016.
The Telegraph suggest Conte is also under scrutiny because of his training methods.
Ross Barkley is reportedly a doubt for the Watford game after suffering another hamstring injury – which would make him the eighth Chelsea player to pick up a hamstring injury this season.
Willian could return from one against Watford, Andreas Christensen has been ruled out after sustaining a hamstring injury against Bournemouth, while Alvaro Morata, Cesc Fabregas, Victor Moses, N’Golo Kante and Gary Cahill have all had hamstring trouble since the start of the campaign.
The Telegraph say this has led to Conte’s training methods being called into question.
Meanwhile, Conte has said he would like Chelsea to publicly back him.
Speaking to reporters ahead of tonight’s match, he said: “I’d like to have a statement to support against this speculation.
“Maybe I’d like that the club prepare a statement to tell the media: ‘I trust in his job, I trust in his work’.”
