Conte to consider Loftus-Cheek loan move

Antonio Conte has indicated that Chelsea could consider sending Ruben Loftus-Cheek out on loan.

The 20-year-old has been hampered by injury this season and has not started a Premier League match.

Loftus-Cheek’s only league appearance this term came as a substitute against Leicester in October, when he came on with eight minutes of the game remaining.

His first-team chances at Chelsea look limited for the time being, and Blues boss Conte has suggested that the player could move elsewhere in January.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Conte said: “He is in our squad and in this season he had a few injuries.

“There is the moment when I speak with the club and we make the best decision.

“I am sure Ruben has great potential. I think is is important to show this and improve a lot on different aspects.”

Meanwhile, Kenedy is back at Chelsea after his season-long loan at Watford was cut short.

The Brazilian has also been troubled by injury – and made just one appearance for the Hornets.

Conte said: “Kenedy wasn’t playing and for this reason the best decision was to come back and stay with us and to work with us to evaluate him this month and to take the best decision to stay with us or go on loan another time.”
