Chelsea have reportedly made contact with AC Milan over a possible move for full-back Theo Hernandez.
According to Tuttosport via Football Italia, Chelsea have asked for information about the Frenchman’s availability in January, but it is claimed that it would take at least €60m for the Serie A club to consider selling him.
According to the report, the Blues called Milan to sound out the France international’s availability but there is currently no official negotiation ongoing, with the Rossoneri uninterested in selling the player.
Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for full-back additions next month with Ben Chilwell ruled out for the season with a knee injury, while Reece James was also substituted off during yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton.
Former Real Madrid man Hernandez is under contract with the San Siro club until 2024 and is said to be in talks over an extension to keep him there until 2026.
He has been linked with some of Europe’s top clubs over the past few months, including Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain, with Tuttosport claiming the Ligue 1 giants tried to sign the Frenchman in the summer.
Hernandez is the latest full-back to be linked with Chelsea, who are also said to hold interest in both Everton’s Lucas Digne and Barcelona’s Sergino Dest.
However, according to reports Everton are reluctant to let Digne leave on loan, prompting Chelsea to look elsewhere.
And according to Goal, the Blues might also consider recalling Emerson Palmieri or Ian Maatsen from their respective loan spells at Lyon and Coventry City to ease their problems at wing-back.
