Chelsea want Bosnia defender but deal is being blocked, says father

Chelsea want to sign Anel Ahmedhodzic from Malmo but his agent is blocking a move, the defender’s father has claimed.

Bosnia international Ahmedhodzic, 21, was previously at Nottingham Forest and has impressed in Sweden.

His father Mirsad believes Chelsea are ready to sign his son for around £7m but that the player’s agent Markus Rosenberg is a barrier to any deal, The Sun reports.

He is quoted as saying: “He’s [Rosenberg] not doing his job. He has told Marina [Granovskaia] at Chelsea that Anel is not going there. He wants to go abroad after the season finishes.

“He also believes that Italian agent Fredrico Pastorelli has been in talks with several clubs across Europe to make a deal happen for Ahmedhodzic.

“Markus hasn’t arranged this, he doesn’t have the contacts. I have tried to inform Markus that Pastorello wants to cooperate with him.”

Ahmedhodzic Sr has also criticised Rosenberg on social media, claiming that his son’s agent “separates the child from the father and the mother for money.”

However, the player himself has made it clear that he does not agree with his father’s comments or appreciate the intervention.

Speaking to Kvallspoten, he said: “I can start by saying that I am very disappointed.

“To write such things on social media and call other people idiots, not to support me.

“I have always felt a love for him. But I have not felt any support, he has not supported me in the right way. Especially not now when things are going so well for me.”
