Maurizio Sarri is playing Chelsea’s key players in the correct positions, according to BBC pundit Stephen Warnock.
Blues boss Sarri has faced some criticism for deploying N’Golo Kante in a more attacking midfield role this season.
And more recently the Italian has played without an out and out striker, with Eden Hazard operating as a so-called false nine.
It paid off during the recent win over Manchester City and again in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Brighton, where Hazard scored one and made one.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, former England international Warnock said Hazard in particular is revelling in the set-up Sarri has introduced.
He said: “When you’ve got a player like that (Hazard), with the form he’s in, but then you’ve got players either side of him in Kovacic and Kante pressing high, it makes it so much easier for Hazard to find these spaces.
“You’ve got Kovacic, who leaves his man and carries on running because he knows behind him you’ve got Jorginho.
“Kante, the pressing high, and Hazard, Brighton just couldn’t find a way out.
“It was a superb performance from Chelsea overall. The best players understand the game tactically.
“And what Sarri’s done is he’s brought in a way that suits them players to free up space for them.”
