Bayern chief again speaks out on Hudson-Odoi – and seems confident deal is on the cards

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has again been speaking about his club’s pursuit of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

And Salihamidzic has suggested that Bayern have stepped up their attempts to sign the Chelsea youngster, who is keen to make the move.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Salihamidzic confirmed that talks to sign Hudson-Odoi are continuing with a view to getting a deal done during this month’s transfer window.

He said: “We want to sign the player. I am fully convinced of his abilities. We are in talks with Chelsea.

“But we have many leaders in our team. That’s why it would not be a problem if no player arrived in January.

“We have to find a good mix between young talents and experienced leaders who carry the team.”

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri recently accused Bayern of being unprofessional and disrespectful by publicly pursuing Hudson-Odoi.

The player’s contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire next year and Chelsea want him to commit his future to the club by signing a new deal.

Speaking at a press conference last week. Blues head coach Sarri said: “I think that it’s not professional, because they are talking about a player under contract with Chelsea. They didn’t respect our club.”
