Barcelona reportedly eyeing deals for Chelsea duo

Barcelona are reportedly keen to snap up Andres Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta if they do not sign new deals at Chelsea.

The contracts of both defenders expire at the end of the season, although they have indicated that they want to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Sun have picked up on reports that Barca will target both players if they can be signed on free transfers.

The story appears to have emanated from Spanish transfer-gossip website Fichajes.

Speaking at a press conference last month, Chelsea captain Azpilicueta insisted he was happy at the club and had no concerns about his future despite his contract situation.

“I don’t have any concerns. I feel fully trusted by the club,” said the Spaniard.

“Yes it’s true that my contract ends in June. But I just focus on what is next, which is to try to play the best I can, and everything will take care of itself. I don’t need to say anything more.

“I just feel that I have to keep doing the things that I’m doing and everything will come by itself.

“I love to be here, I’ve felt loved since I arrived, and of course my aim is to be here for as long as I can.”
