Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen to add to his squad and has been linked with the former Liverpool star…
Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian has failed to impress at Barcelona since leaving Anfield and he is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.
Chelsea have been linked with him during the past two transfer windows and he continues to be touted for a return to the Premier League.
And the Daily Mirror have reported that the Blues have been given the green light to sign him, with Barca apparently offering Coutinho to them in an attempt to offload him.
However, comments by the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian last year suggest Coutinho might be reluctant to move to Stamford Bridge.
Reacting to speculation that Coutinho might join Manchester United, Joorabchian told Talksport that his client would not been keen to join one of his former club’s domestic rivals.
Joorabchian said: “Manchester United is a great club, I have players there and I have all the respect for them, but as far as Philippe goes it would be an extremely difficult to a near-impossible move.
“I would be very difficult for Philippe to play for any of Liverpool’s rivals, because he has such a great affinity towards Liverpool. His time there was fantastic.
“A lot of these guys who leave Liverpool remain Liverpool fans because of the fans and the passion they have. So it would be hard for him to go to a rival.”
