Paper round-up: Bees stars linked with top-flight clubs

Neal Maupay has been superb for Brentford this season

Two of Brentford’s star players have been linked with potential moves to the Premier League.

The Sun on Sunday say Bournemouth are planning a move for Brentford defender Chris Mepham and that Huddersfield want Bees striker Neal Maupay.

Both men have been hugely impressive for Dean Smith’s side and Maupay’s strike against Leeds on Saturday was his 10th goal this season.

Meanwhile, the the Sunday Telegraph say Bees boss Smith is among other options being considered by Aston Villa even though Thierry Henry is the first choice to take over as manager following the sacking of Steve Bruce.

The Sun on Sunday say Mousa Dembele is set for a move to China or the Middle East.

The newspaper say Dembele, whose Tottenham contract expires at the end of the season, will not discuss a new deal and has already turned down offers from other European clubs.

A host of Chinese Super League clubs, including Beijing Sinobo Guoanare, are said to be keen to sign him.

Arsenal and Tottenham both want Ipswich Town youngster Andre Dozzell, the Sunday Mirror say.

The 19-year-old son of former Ipswich and Spurs midfielder Jason Dozzell was touted for a move from Portman Road before suffering a long-term knee injury.

Young Dozzell, also a midfielder, is back in action and is again being linked with a possible move to the Premier League.

And the Sunday Mirror reports that Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has sought advice from his fellow Spanish keeper, Manchester United’s David De Gea, since arriving in England.

He said: “Every player settles into a new league in different ways. David is a team-mate with the national team and we get on really well.

“When I signed for Chelsea, he gave me some advice, telling me a bit about how it was for him when he came here.”
