Arsenal are being linked with a potential move for Wolves forward Cunha after he declared that he wants to leave the Midlands club.
The Gunners’ new sporting director Andrea Berta helped sign Cunha for Atletico Madrid from Hertha Berlin in 2021.
That has led to speculation that Berta could look to take him to the Emirates Stadium – the Daily Mail suggests he might do so.
It comes after Cunha admitted that he would like to join a club challenging for silverware.
Several clubs were linked with him during the January transfer window but he stayed at Molineux.
And in and interview with The Guardian, he said: “I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it.
“Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
As well as Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham were among clubs linked with Cunha in January. He was also linked with Nottingham Forest.
