There continues to be speculation over Arsene Wenger’s position as Arsenal manager.
The Daily Telegraph say Wenger’s future could hinge on beating Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the Europa League.
It comes after the Gunners were handed the toughest possible draw as they target a place in the final.
The Telegraph say that at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against Newcastle, Wenger “noticeably ignored” a question about whether he would continue as manager if his side do not win the Europa League.
The Telegraph have also linked Danny Drinkwater with a possible move to West Ham.
It comes after The Guardian reported that Drinkwater is unhappy at playing a bit-part role for Chelsea since being signed from Leicester last year and could seek a move this summer.
The Telegraph say West Ham have been alerted to his potential availability and that a transfer to the east London club could suit Drinkwater as it would mean he would not to have move home for the second time in a year.
But The Telegraph also suggest Chelsea would want £30m for him and that this could be an obstacle to a deal.
Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud has told The Sun that leaving Arsenal for Chelsea was an “easy” decision to make.
The striker added: “That Arsenal page is finished now and it’s a new chapter for my career.
“I am at the best club in England in recent years because Chelsea have won more trophies than anyone else.”
