Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with a host of players amid speculation over who they might sign when the transfer window reopens.
With Blues boss Frank Lampard and his Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta both keen to add to their respective squads, the two London clubs are expected to spend when they eventually get the chance.
And according to various reports, in some cases both clubs are showing an interest in the same players.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with Phillipe Coutinho amid reports that the former Liverpool star could return to the Premier League.
Coutinho has failed to make an impact at Barcelona since joining them from Liverpool and his future is uncertain.
He has been on loan at Bayern Munich and reports suggest the German club are not planning to take up an option to buy him.
That could pave the way for him to move elsewhere – perhaps London.
However, The Sun has reported that Coutinho could yet stay at Barcelona despite it previously seeming certain that he would move on.
Achraf Hakimi is another player on loan in Germany – in his case at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid.
The Mirror reported that Chelsea are among several clubs interested in the right-back, who has since also been linked with Arsenal.
Hakimi is expected to discuss his future with Real this summer and has made it clear he will only want to stay if he gets regular first-team football.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, although The Guardian reports that he is on course to join Everton.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail have suggested Chelsea are set to rival Arsenal for the signing of Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.
The Irish Sun say Arsenal and Chelsea are among clubs keen on Stoke City’s Republic of Ireland Under-21 international centre-back Nathan Collins, with the Blues apparently showing the strongest interest.
Bristol City’s Han-Noah Massengo is another Championship youngster linked with both the Gunners and Chelsea.
The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for the Robins, prompting speculation that big clubs could show an interest.
Football League World say Chelsea are keen on him and Bristol Live also say Arsenal have been showing an interest in Massengo.
