Arsene Wenger says he has no doubt Arsenal have the quality to beat rivals Tottenham in Saturday’s north London derby.

Third-placed Spurs have been excellent away from home and are three places and four points above their neighbours.

But Gunners boss Wenger is in confident mood ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking at a media conference, Wenger declared: “Tottenham is a good side but we have the quality to win this game.

“We have no fear. We are focused on nullifying their strong points and expressing our strong points”

The Frenchman added: “It’s always pride involved – the desire to beat your opponent. All the neighbours in the world always feel derbies.

“You must have full commitment and also be lucid and calm enough.”

Wenger will assess the fitness of a number of his players, including defender Shkodran Mustafi and striker Danny Welbeck, before deciding his line-up.

But Olivier Giroud is likely to miss out after picking up an injury while on international duty with France.

“Mustafi will have a final check, Welbeck as well. We will make decisions on all of them,” Wenger explained.

“Giroud did pick up an injury. I don’t think he will be available.”
