Arsenal and Liverpool eyeing Wolves star – report

Arsenal are showing an interest in Wolves captain Conor Coady, the Mail say.

Coady is negotiating a new contract at Wolves, who are said to be ready to significantly increase his wages in order to see off interest from other clubs.

The Mail say Arsenal and midfielder Coady’s former club Liverpool are monitoring his progress.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery wants Arsenal to find a club for Mesut Ozil during this month’s transfer window, again according to the Mail.

It comes amid continued speculation over the future of the German, who was again dropped by Gunners boss Emery at the weekend.

Emery is keen to make signings and the Mail say he wants the club to find an exit for Ozil in order to pave the way for new faces to be brought in.

Ozil has missed a number of games this season, with differing reasons given for his absence. A 2-1 win at Bournemouth in November was the only time Emery conceded the former Germany international was left out for tactical reasons.

But when pushed over why he opted to leave Ozil at home for the short trip to West Ham, Emery claimed all of those players who did make the trip deserved to be there.

“I decided the idea of the players that I think are the best for this match,” he said.

“We win with him, we lose with him. I think it is not one player (which means) we can’t win or lose.

“Today the players who were here are the players who deserved to be in this match. We could’ve won or lost.

“We continue working with every player because they are all important, but today the decision was to come with these players.”
