Chelsea and Arsenal continue to be linked with Sweden’s highly-rated young striker Alexander Isak.
Both London sides were among Premier League clubs linked with the 22-year-old after he impressed at the European Championship.
He has since signed a new contract with Real Sociedad – but reports in Spain suggest he could still end up in England before long.
His new deal runs until the summer of 2026 but reportedly includes a £77m release clause – and Spanish outlet Fichajes say Arsenal and Chelsea are continuing to keep tabs on him ahead of a possible move.
He is known to Thomas Tuchel, as he was at Borussia Dortmund during the final months of the Blues boss’ spell in charge at the German club.
Isak later left Dortmund to join Sociedad, where he has established himself as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe.
He scored an impressive 17 goals in 34 La Liga matches last season and then caught the eye for his country during the summer.
Arsenal have been widely tipped to invest in a striker in the next couple of transfer windows given doubts over the future of Alexandre Lacazette and the need to eventually replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is now 32.
