Paper round-up: Cazorla tipped for Arsenal role

The Independent say only the make-up of Mikel Arteta’s backroom team needs to be decided before he takes over as Arsenal manager.

The former Gunners midfielder, who is currently coaching at Manchester City, is now being widely tipped to replace Arsene Wenger.

The Independent say there is likely to be a role under Arteta for Santi Cazorla, while various reports suggest Arsenal legend Thierry Henry could also be part of the backroom team.

Meanwhile, Wenger could become general manager of French giants Paris St-Germain now his long reign as Arsenal manager is over, the Daily Mirror say.

The Times reports that Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson believes Ruben Loftus-Cheek is one of the best midfield players that he has worked with.

The Mirror say Southampton and Wolves are interested in Joe Hart after West Ham opted not to sign the goalkeeper on a permanent deal from Manchester City following his disappointing loan spell.

And The Sun claim City are ready to pay in excess of £100m for Eden Hazard if he decides to leave Chelsea this summer.

The newspaper quotes a City source as saying: “The club would be at the front of the queue if Hazard becomes available this summer.

“The club have been keeping a watchful eye. They know his value will drop if his deal continues to run down.”
