Arsenal showed they remain “a force to be reckoned with” in their 2-0 win over Chelsea, according to Danny Murphy.
The Gunners were resounding winners at the Emirates Stadium and BBC pundit Murphy was hugely impressed.
Speaking on Match of the Day, the former Tottenham and Fulham midfielder said: “They played very well – superb energy, application.
“They were courageous with the tactics – they really went after Chelsea.
“You know with Chelsea’s quality they can play through, but Arsenal just swarmed all over them. It was, to a man, a brilliant display in the first half.
“When you press you have to have good communication. You have to have tenacity and you have to have the bravery to do it, and they did.
“It was like they had a point to prove after the disappointment of the result and the performance against West Ham last week.
“When they play like that they’re a real force to be reckoned with. That’s as good I’ve seen Arsenal in a long time.”
Arsenal boss Unai Emery was full of praise for his players.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Emery said: “Every circumstance came with us. The mentality was good. We want to be like that home and away.”
