Mikel Arteta thanked Arsenal fans after the 3-1 win over Tottenham in the north London derby.
The Gunners have endured a tough spell under manager Arteta, whose future has been the subject of some speculation.
But it was a great day for the Gunners faithful at the Emirates Stadium, where the atmosphere was superb as the home side saw off their local rivals.
First-half goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bakayo Saka secured the points.
Speaking at his post-match press conference, Areta said: “Thank you for creating this incredible environment today – for the energy showed towards the team. This win is for them. Enjoy it tonight.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo admitted he got his tactics and team selection wrong.
Spurs were woeful, especially in midfield, and Nuno took off Dele Alli at the interval along with Japhet Tanganga, sending on Oliver Skipp and Emerson Royal.
The visitors were better in the second half and Son Heung-min pulled a goal back.
“The performance was not good. The game plan was not good,” Nuno admitted to Sky Sports after the game.
“When you have a game plan you have to make the right decisions in terms of who you want to put on the pitch to develop that game plan, so I take responsibility because the decisions were not according to the game plan.
“The game plan was not according to the players that were on the pitch.”
