Arsenal v Wolves: Gunners injury woe, Wolves star could play

Arsenal will be without Danny Welbeck and Stephan Lichtsteiner for Sunday’s Premier League visit of Wolves after both were forced off injured in Thursday’s draw with Sporting Lisbon.

Welbeck (ankle) is expected to be sidelined for some time after being taken to hospital following an awkward fall, while Lichtsteiner limped out of the Europa League clash with a muscular issue.

Mohamed Elneny (thigh) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are still missing, while Matteo Guendouzi is back in domestic contention after serving a one-match ban.

Provisional squad: Leno, Cech, Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Koscielny, Papastathopoulos, Monreal, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Xhaka, Torreira, Guendouzi, Ramsey, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Diogo Jota could return for Wolves after shaking off a hamstring injury.

The forward is fit for Sunday’s trip to the Emirates Stadium after missing last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to Tottenham at Molineux.

Jota is one caution away from a ban while boss Nuno Espirito Santo could be tempted to make changes to end a run of three straight defeats.

Provisional squad: Patricio, Ruddy, Norris, Doherty, Dendoncker, Bennett, Enobakhare, Hause, Boly, Coady, Gibbs-White, Jota, Otto, Saiss, Neves, Costa, Moutinho, Vinagre, Bonatini, Traore, Jimenez.
