Arsenal planning move for Belgian keeper, report claims

Belgian publication HLN reckon Arsenal are planning move for Standard Liege goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert.

The Gunners are reported to be keen to sign the 22-year-old when his contract expires at the end of the season.

It is claimed that Arsenal sent scouts to see him in action in a recent match against Genk and that it was the sixth time he has been watched by the club this season.

Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus has again been touted as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

The Daily Telegraph say Reus, who was recently linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, has been identified as a possible signing should either of Arsenal’s star duo leave.

It comes amid continued speculation over the futures of Ozil and Sanchez, whose contracts expire in 2018.

Both are said to be demanding more money than Arsenal have initially offered.

“It doesn’t really depend on me so much as it does the club, if they want to show confidence in me,” Sanchez told Sky Sports last week.

Germany international Reus, 27, has been touted for a move to the Premier League during successive transfer windows.

Chelsea are among the English clubs linked with him previously.

The Telegraph also say Middlesbrough are rivalling Crystal Palace for the January signing of Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede.

The newspaper recently suggested that the 28-year-old could be targeted by Palace following Connor Wickham’s season-ending knee injury.

Boro have been linked after Gestede attended their 3-0 defeat by Liverpool last week.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have again been linked with Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.

The Sun say the Blues and Manchester United are looking to sign the Germany international when the transfer window reopens next month.

Genoa winger Diego Laxalt has also again been touted for a move to Chelsea, this time by the Daily Mirror, which also reports that Diego Costa is set to be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Laxalt was recently linked with a move to west London after his agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito claimed Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to snap up the 23-year-old.

Now D’Ippolito is now quoted as saying: “Genoa believe in him, but they are always open to selling their players for the right offer.

“Conte had been scouting Laxalt when he was in Italy and he’d love to take Laxalt to Chelsea now.”
