Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere are close to signing new contracts at Arsenal, The Sun say.
Ozil is said to have made it clear he wants to stay at the club, while Wilshere’s contract offer reportedly involves a reduced basic wage with much emphasis on financial incentives if he plays regularly.
The Sun quotes an ‘Emirates source’ as saying: “Mesut loves it here. He loves living in London and has made it clear he wants to stay.
“Jack is Arsenal through-and-through and wants to become club captain next season. He wants to be a legend.
“They’ve both got the contracts on the table and there’s not much else to iron out really. They should be all sorted soon.”
Ozil is reported to have been seeking a significant pay rise and is also said to be keen to be given Arsenal’s number 10 shirt.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Olivier Giroud could leave Arsenal to join Borussia Dortmund in an exchange deal involving striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are reportedly closing in on a deal to take Aubameyang to north London.
And, according to The Times, Alexis Sanchez has been told to train with the Arsenal youth team as he apparently prepares to leave the club for Manchester United.
