Arsenal reportedly in talks to sign Juventus star

Arsenal are discussing a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, The Sun say.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to have made contact with the Bosnian midfielder to ask him if he would like to move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Sun say Pjanic, 26, has indicated that he is keen to do so and the pair are apparently working towards a verbal agreement.

Juventus are reportedly reluctant to sell him after missing out on Axel Witsel.

Pjanic joined Juve in the summer, signing a five-year contract with the Turin club.

The Sun say Arsenal would therefore have to pay-out his contract and that he could be signed as a replacement for Santi Cazorla.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, again according to The Sun.

Chelsea have made the first move to sign him and Blues boss Antonio Conte is hopeful of a £21m deal, The Sun say.

Chelsea are said to have held talks with Rodriguez’s agent.

Meanwhile, The Mirror say Wenger is ready to sell Mathieu Debuchy following a fall-out with the French right-back.

Wenger recently denied claims made in an interview by Debuchy, who suggested the pair had hardly spoken and that a potential move to Manchester United had been blocked.
