Tottenham are looking to tie up a deal to sign Argentine centre-back Juan Foyth from Estudiantes for a fee of around £9m, The Guardian reports.
Spurs, who have been tracking the 19-year-old for some time, are reported to have entered advanced talks with Estudiantes.
The Guardian also say, however, that Spurs face competition from Paris St-Germain and Inter Milan, who apparently also want him.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to give Calum Chambers another chance after selling Gabriel to Valencia, according to the Daily Mirror.
Chambers had been tipped to leave the club this summer and was reportedly close to joining Crystal Palace.
He is now said to be back in Wenger’s plans following Gabriel’s departure from the Emirates Stadium.
West Ham are becoming frustrated in their attempts to sign Portugal midfielder William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon, with the clubs £5.5m apart in their valuations, the Daily Telegraph say.
And the Mirror say Antonio Conte has been given the green light to sign Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva.
Inter are ready to sell for £25m, the Mirror say, and Candreva is said to be keen to link up with Chelsea boss Conte, having previously played under him for Italy.
There were recently reports that the Chelsea board were reluctant to sanction a deal to sign the 30-year-old.
