Fulham have completed the signing of former Arsenal forward Rui Fonte from RC Braga for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Craven Cottage with the option of a further 12 months.
Fonte, who can play as a centre-forward or on the wing, returns to England having had a spell at Arsenal as a youngster and played on loan at Crystal Palace.
Arsenal signed him from Sporting Lisbon and he made one first-team appearance for the Gunners before returning to Sporting in 2009.
He then had spells at Benfica and Spanish club Espanyol before joining Braga, where he was captain and scored 11 goals in 24 appearances last season.
“I am very happy and very excited to sign for Fulham, this is an amazing challenge. Fulham is a massive club and I’m looking forward to it,” he told Fulham’s website.
“I wanted to say a big thank you to Braga who took me in as family and I’m thankful to all the staff and fans for their support during my time there.”
Meanwhile, Fulham striker Cauley Woodrow has joined Bristol City on a season-long loan.
Woodrow, 22, ended last season on loan at Burton and they hoped to re-sign him, but the Robins were able to convince him to join them.
