There continues to be speculation over the futures of Chelsea midfielders Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Italy international Jorginho has long been linked with a return to Serie A, while recent reports have claimed that former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to sign Loftus-Cheek.
And in the wake of Chelsea’s Champions League exit, reports in Italy are again declaring that the pair could leave Stamford Bridge during the summer.
Football Italia say Sarri wants Loftus-Cheek to join him at Lazio and that Jorginho may have played his last European match for Chelsea.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said last week that he wants Jorginho’s long-term future to be resolved this summer.
Jorginho’s contract is due expire in 2023 and Tuchel is keen to avoid a repeat of the uncertainty over the futures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, whose deals expire at the end of the season.
Both defenders can therefore leave on free transfers this summer. Christensen is expected to join Barcelona.
Chelsea cannot negotiate contracts until new owners take charge.
And Tuchel is hoping a takeover will soon go through – and pave the way for contract negotiations with Jorginho to take place.
Tuchel said at a press conference: “Nobody wants that (uncertainty) with players, especially big and important players. It is important that we solve this in the summer so that it is clear where the journey is.
“At the moment it is difficult to handle anything. But yes, of course, this should be the target for us.”
