City tipped to make ‘take-it-or-leave-it offer’ for Kane

Manchester City will table a £100m bid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

The newspaper describe it as a ‘take-it-or-leave-it offer’ and say it will be submitted after the England captain’s involvement in Euro 2020.

It is claimed that City do not want negotiations to drag on and will look elsewhere if the offer is not accepted.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is said to be demanding closer £150m for Kane, who has indicated that he wants to leave the club in order to win silverware and play Champions League football.

But Levy has warned that Tottenham will not be prepared to let Kane leave for less than the asking price.

Levy recently told Spurs’ website: “I am never going to talk about any specific player in public. All I will say is his frustrations in not winning are shared by me and all the fans and players. We all want to win.”

Levy was speaking as the appointment of new director of football Fabio Paratici was confirmed.

He said: “One of the items that Fabio will have to deal with when he comes in is which players are going to be retained, which will be asked to look for other clubs.

“There is a market out there. What we want and what other clubs want is not always possible to achieve. We will do whatever is right for the club.”
