Chelsea have rejected an approach from West Ham to take Emerson Palmieri on loan, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Hammers are looking to bring in a left-back before the transfer window closes as they are currently without the injured Arthur Masuaku.
The Sunday Mirror reports that West Ham boss David Moyes saw Emerson as a good stop-gap but that Chelsea were unwilling to let him go.
Emerson has had limited first-team opportunities at Chelsea, with Ben Chilwell firmly established as the first-choice left-back.
Marcos Alonso has been frozen out by Blues boss Frank Lampard and could leave Stamford Bridge, so Emerson could well be needed as cover for the remainder of the season
With Chelsea facing a packed fixture schedule, particularly with the Champions League about to resume, the club therefore seem reluctant to let Emerson go.
His only Premier League appearance this season came, ironically, against West Ham in December, but he has featured in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Champions League.
Emerson has been at Chelsea for three years but has started a mere 23 league matches for the club since arriving from Roma.
Reports in Italy have suggested that several Serie A clubs are keen to sign him.
