Fikayo Tomori looks increasingly likely to join Leeds United on loan for the second half of the season.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to take the central defender to Elland Road as cover for Robin Koch, who is out with a long-term injury.
Newcastle have also been linked with Tomori, who backed out of a loan move to West Ham in the final stages of the summer transfer window.
He is expected to make a loan move this time around, having slipped down the pecking order of centre-backs at Stamford Bridge – particularly since the arrival of Thiago Silva.
Tomori played 22 times for Chelsea last season but has barely featured this term, making just three appearances in all competitions.
The BBC say Leeds is the most likely destination for Tomori as he looks to play regular first-team football.
Several fringe players at Chelsea are expected to leave during this month’s transfer window, either permanently on loan.
They include Danny Drinkwater, who is being linked with a potential move to Germany.
The midfielder has no future at Chelsea, who have been keen to offload him for some time.
And German outlet Fussballtransfers.com say Drinkwater’s representatives have contacted Bundesliga clubs to see if there is interest in signing him during this month’s transfer window.
It is claimed that Chelsea would be willing to sell him for just £3.5m.
