Jose Mourinho described Tanguy Ndombele’s performance as “phenomenal” after he returned to the Tottenham side against Norwich.
The Frenchman impressed in midfield along with Christian Eriksen in a 2-2 draw at Carrow Road, where Eriksen scored with a free-kick and Harry Kane a penalty.
It was an emphatic return for Ndombele – but Spurs boss Mourinho was much less impressed with his side’s defending, which was poor again.
“We have to work to try to stop the mistakes,” Mourinho admitted.
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp believes Mourinho will regard it as two points dropped – and will be determined to shore things up at the back.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “It was a big opportunity. You’re playing against a team that’s at the bottom and they’re scrambling to get a point in the end.
“I think Jose will be disappointed. He started with a back three, went to a back four and it looked marginally better in the second half.
“But I think it’s the manner in which they’re losing goals which will really frustrate Jose Mourinho because he’s all about clean sheets – 25 for Chelsea when he first came to the Premier League.
“At the moment you can’t see where that Tottenham side can keep a clean sheet. They really are struggling to defend properly.”
