Eden Hazard has said that Chelsea supporters are not as fanatical as their Real Madrid counterparts.
The 28-year-old Belgian joined the Spanish giants from the Blues in the summer for a fee that could reach around £130m.
And Hazard, a hugely popular figure during his eight years at Stamford Bridge, said he can already sense a difference in the way fans back their team.
“At the time I was in Chelsea and we lost, we were disappointed as were the fans, but I never felt it was a disaster,” Hazard said.
“When you are at Real Madrid, even if it is my first year, talking to the fans, they always expect you to win the Champions League.”
“Here the fans are really fans,” he added.
“In England there are not so many fans, people there like football and everyone, young people, adults, teenagers, are really interested in their football, but they are not so fanatical about their teams.”
Hazard played 52 games for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and two Europa League titles.
