Unai Emery wants to keep Carl Jenkinson at Arsenal despite interest in the defender from a number of clubs, according to the Daily Mirror.
The newspaper say Burnley, West Brom and Ipswich want to take Jenkinson on loan but that Gunners boss Emery has told him to stay and fight for his place.
Emery has apparently been impressed with him in training, while Hector Bellerin being sidelined by a long-term knee injury means Arsenal would be short of cover without Jenkinson.
The Mirror also claim Arsenal are among clubs considering a move for Juan Mata in the summer, when the former Chelsea star’s Manchester United contract is due to expire.
Meanwhile, doubts remain over the future of Arsenal target Denis Suarez.
The Mirror reports that the midfielder wants to join Arsenal on loan but that Barcelona would prefer to sell to Sevilla or Real Betis, who are reportedly ready to buy him.
The Daily Mail say Suarez is determined to join Arsenal and that it is hoped a loan with a view to a permanent move can be agreed ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.
The Mirror believe Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku is being lined up as a possible alternative to Suarez.
And the Mirror also say Roma director of football Monchi is keen on a summer move to Arsenal, having previously worked with Emery at Sevilla.
