Ryan Manning believes he is ready to secure a regular first-team place at QPR.
The Irish midfielder was recently recalled from a season-long loan at Rotherham because of Geoff Cameron’s injury and Massimo Luongo’s involvement for Australia at the Asian Cup.
He was a substitute for Sunday’s FA Cup tie against Leeds United and faces a tough battle for a place at Loftus Road.
But Manning feels he is capable of establishing himself as a regular at Rangers.
He told Football.London: “I’d like to think that I’ve got a chance to stake a claim for a regular place in the side. I’ve played several games in the Championship now and have proved that I can compete at this level.
“I’ve also proved that I can score goals. I feel like I can come back in, take a place in the starting 11 and keep it. I’ve just got to wait now to get my opportunity here, and hopefully I can capitalise and take it.”
Manning made 19 appearances for Rotherham during his time with the Yorkshire club, scoring four goals.
“Playing games is exactly what I wanted from the loan move,” he said.
“Hopefully, I can add to the squad and make it stronger.”
