Tottenham and Arsenal are among clubs interested in Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, the Daily Mirror say.
The newspaper say Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris St-Germain have been monitoring the Frenchman but suggest Spurs are ready to make a firm move for him in January.
The Mirror claim Doucoure, who is apparently rated at £35m, has been targeted as a possible replacement for Victor Wanyama.
It follows reports linking Wanyama with a move away from Spurs when the transfer window reopens.
Meanwhile, the Daily Star say Chelsea are having second thoughts about making a move for Aaron Ramsey.
Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with the Arsenal midfielder, whose contract at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire at the end of the season. He has been told by the club that he will not be offered a new contract.
The Star say the Blues are having doubts about going for Ramsey because of the recent impressive performances of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Other reports say Liverpool, who have also been linked with the Wales international, are not interested in signing him.
And Fulham players will have to take a significant wage cut if the club are relegated from the Premier League, the Daily Mail reports.
