Luis Enrique is on course to take over as Arsenal manager, the Daily Mail say.
The newspaper claim that talks with the former Barcelona boss are at an advanced stage and that only an unexpected glitch in the negotiations will prevent him from succeeding Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.
It was announced on Friday that Wenger will step down at the end of the season after 22 years in the job.
On the other hand, the Daily Mirror say Germany boss Joachim Low, Juventus’ Max Allegri, Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers are likely to be on Arsenal’s shortlist.
The Daily Express, which has linked Allegri with Chelsea, now claim Arsenal want him and that the two London clubs will battle it out for the Italian.
The Daily Telegraph link Wenger with Everton or a possible return to his former club Monaco.
Meanwhile, The Sun declare that Wenger was sacked by Arsenal.
The Sun say he wanted to stay and was axed because he had lost the support of owner Stan Kroenke.
The newspaper also say the club agreed to pay Wenger £11m — reportedly his annual salary — as severance when he leaves.
The Times run a similar story, reporting that Wenger was told he would sacked at the end of the season if he did not choose to step aside.
