Lampard issues blunt message to Moyes on Barkley

Frank Lampard has made it clear that Chelsea will not allow Ross Barkley to join West Ham.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to take Barkley to the London Stadium on loan for the rest of the season.

However, speaking at a press conference on Friday, Chelsea manager Lampard insisted his club had no intention of letting the England international leave.

“There’s no talk here of Ross Barkley going anywhere. He’s our player, he’s played the last couple of games and done very well,” Lampard said.

“Ross hasn’t featured as much this year but I’ve got a lot of faith in Ross.

“So that (West Ham’s reported interest) was just news that I heard like everybody else and I’ve absolutely no feeling towards it (Barkley going). I’m very happy with him.”

Lampard also dismissed reports that Willian could be on his way out of Chelsea during this month’s transfer window.

A number of clubs have been linked with the Brazilian, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Lampard said: “Willian is not going anywhere. We know his contract is up at the end of the season. He’s in conversations with the club, which are still ongoing.”
