Paper round-up: Barkley wants £150,000 a week to join Spurs, Mirror say

Ross Barkley wants £150,000 a week to join Tottenham and Everton are demanding £50m for him, the Daily Mirror say.

The newspaper say Spurs value Barkley at more like £15m and that agreeing to his wage demands would make him the highest-paid player at the club.

The Mirror also say Borussia Dortmund teenager Christian Pulisic has been considered as a possible alternative signing but that his wage demands have also put him out of Tottenham’s range.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Mousa Sissoko’s lucrative contract means Tottenham face having to pay him a substantial amount in order to offload the midfielder.

Crystal Palace are considering a move for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, according to the Mirror.

It comes after the Hammers completed the signing of England keeper Joe Hart from Manchester City.

Newcastle are also said to be considering a move for Adrian, whose first-team prospects at the London Stadium now look bleak.

Arsenal have been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Daily Express have picked up on reports in Italy claiming that the Gunners are interested in the Lazio defender, who was previously tipped to join Chelsea.

Koulibaly has since signed a new contract, which runs until 2021, but it is claimed that Arsenal have made an enquiry about him.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to have identified Koulibaly as a potential signing but Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri apparently does not want to sell the Senegal international.

The Mirror and the Mail both report that Jack Wilshere has been told he can leave Arsenal.

And the Express reports that Wenger is prepared to let Alexis Sanchez see out the final year of his Arsenal contract rather than sell the Chilean this summer.
