Kevin Wimmer is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move from Tottenham to Stoke City, the Daily Mirror say.

Crystal Palace were tipped to sign the Austrian defender and West Brom showed an interest.

The Mirror say Stoke have agreed a deal with Spurs and will pay £15m plus a further £3m in add-ons.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror have reported that Leicester have made a £27m move for Andros Townsend and that the Crystal Palace winger moving could ultimately lead to Arsenal selling Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City.

The story suggests that Townsend joining Leicester “could spark a domino effect” in which the Foxes then sell Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal, who might then be prepared to let Sanchez go to City.

Arsenal would apparently have to see off competition from Roma in order to sign Mahrez.

The Sunday Mirror also declared that Arsenal will sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Chelsea this week.

The England international’s contract expires next year and he has reportedly refused to sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

It is claimed that Liverpool want to buy Oxlade-Chamberlain but that, whereas Arsenal see champions Chelsea as title contenders, the Reds are seen as a fellow competitor for a top-four place so the Gunners do not to want to sell to them.

Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday reported that Virgil van Dijk has urged Southampton to let him leave in a series of rows with the club’s hierarchy.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the Netherlands central defender along with Liverpool. All three clubs are reported to be keen to sign him for £60m.
