Paper round-up: United linked with Willian and Wanyama

Manchester United are interested in Willian and Victor Wanyama, the Daily Mail say.

The Mail say United remain interested in Willian, who has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and that they are considering making a move for the Chelsea star this summer.

United are also said to be monitoring Wanyama’s situation, having apparently noticed that Tottenham are using the midfielder sparingly following his recent return from injury.

Meanwhile, West Ham want to tie Declan Rice to a new long-term contract, the Daily Mail say.

Rice, 19, has impressed since breaking into the Hammers’ first team.

He is under contract until 2020 but the Mail say West Ham are keen to offer him a new deal worth around £25,000 a week.

The Daily Mirror say West Ham will make a move for West Brom defender Jonny Evans at the end of the season.

Speculation continues over the future of under-fire Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The Mirror claim the club’s board and players have turned against Wenger and that a list of possible replacements has been drawn up.

The newspaper declares that Wenger “is facing a desperate battle to win back their confidence” and that it looks “increasingly likely” he will leave at the end of the season.

The Sun say the players held a meeting without Wenger in the wake of Sunday’s defeat against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Gunners skipper Per Mertesacker is said to have arranged the meeting at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.

There is also speculation over the future of Jack Wilshere.

Following recent reports that Wilshere is willing to accept a pay cut and sign a new deal to stay at Arsenal, The Sun claim there is “no chance” he will sign unless he is made an improved offer.

Wilshere has reportedly been told he must accept a 25% cut to his salary if he is to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Recent signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are said to be earning more than double what Wilshere has been offered.

And the Mirror say Arsenal are among clubs interested in Paris St-Germain’s teenage midfielder Yacine Adli.
