Paper round-up: Speculation over Wilshere’s future continues

Arsenal are refusing to budge in contract negotiations with Jack Wilshere and have made their final offer, the Daily Mirror say.

The Sun has reported that Wilshere remains keen to stay at Arsenal and will give the club every chance to improve their  offer.

But the Mirror believe Arsenal will not do so and that Wilshere fears he may therefore have to leave the club.

The Sun say Wilshere could even go to this summer’s World Cup with his future still up in the air in the hope that the Gunners will eventually make him a better offer.

West Ham and Everton are said to be prepared to pay Wilshere more than his current salary, which is reported to be worth £120,000 a week.

Arsenal are considering a £45m bid for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir after his agent suggested the France international could leave at the end of the season, according to The Sun.

The Sun also link Arsenal with RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg.

The story is based on German pundit Raphael Honigstein claiming the Gunners tried to sign the Swedish international in January and could make another move for him.

Honigstein told the Totally Football show podcast: “Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot.

“He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig.

“I think (Arsenal) will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.”

Meanwhile, The Times say West Ham are involved in a fresh legal dispute with the London Stadium’s landlords over who should pay for various costs, including hospitality staff.

And Chelsea want Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, the Daily Mirror say.
