Arsenal and West Ham linked with highly-rated Dons defender

Arsenal and West Ham are tracking AFC Wimbledon’s teenage defender Toby Sibbick, The Sun say.

The Gunners, who have signed defender Cohen Bramall from Hednesford Town, are now said to be keeping tabs on Sibbick.

Watford are also said to be showing an interest in the 17-year-old right-back.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign Kyle Walker and Danny Rose from Tottenham, The Sun claim.

It comes after Rose, 26, was recently reported to be a target for Manchester City.

The Sun declare that both Walker, also 26, and Rose are wanted by Mourinho in a ‘sensational £60m move’.

Both full-backs signed new five-year contracts at White Hart Lane earlier this season.

Another Hogan bid rejected – Standard

West Ham have had a third bid, of £12.5m, for Scott Hogan rejected by Brentford, the Evening Standard say.

Brentford are said to be holding out for £15m for Hogan, who has scored 14 goals for them so far this season.

His former club Rochdale would be entitled to a slice of any transfer fee.

Antonio again linked with Chelsea

Chelsea have again been linked with West Ham’s Michail Antonio.

The Times say Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to sign two wing-backs this month and that Antonio is being targeted along with Cologne’s Jonas Hector.

Both players have previously been linked with January moves to Stamford Bridge.

Gunners and Palace linked with Kanu

Arsenal and Crystal Palace are among the clubs monitoring 17-year-old non-League striker Idris Kanu, according to the Daily Mirror.

The teenager was on West Ham’s books until earlier in the season and had a trial period with Manchester United last September.

He is now at National League side Aldershot Town, managed by ex-QPR boss Gary Waddock, and has scored three times in 11 appearances.

Gunners scouts apparently watched Kanu in action against Southport on Saturday, while Palace, Manchester City, Leicester and Reading have reportedly also kept an eye on him.

Jenkinson speculation continues

Crystal Palace ‘lead the race’ to sign Arsenal full-back Carl Jenkinson, the Mirror say.

The Mirror believe Palace boss Sam Allardyce is keen to be reunited with Jenkinson, who he signed on loan for West Ham in the 2014-15 season.

The Hammers have also been linked with the 24-year-old, as have Watford, Aston Villa and Swansea.

But Palace are the front-runners, according to the Mirror, which says Mathieu Debuchy could also be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium on loan.

Palace reportedly favourites to land Downing

Palace are also leading the race to sign Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing, according to the Northern Echo.

Former England man Downing – who, like Jenkinson, played under Allardyce at West Ham – has been told he is free to leave the Riverside on loan this month by boss Aitor Karanka.

Newcastle United are also said to be keen on signing the 32-year-old but the Echo believes that Palace are favourites.

There is apparently no suggestion Downing will be allowed to leave Boro on a permanent basis, as he is under contract until the summer of 2019.

Sanchez and Ozil speculation continues

Speculation continues over the futures of Arsenal stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

The contracts of both players expire in 2018 and they are yet to agree new deals at the Emirates Stadium.

French outlet Maxifoot claim Paris St-Germain are preparing a £60m summer bid for Sanchez.

It comes after the Daily Mirror claimed that PSG are privately urging Sanchez, 28, not to sign a new contract because the French club apparently believe they can sign him in the summer.

In Spain, Don Balon say Atletico Madrid have lined up Chile international Sanchez as a possible replacement for Antoine Griezmann, who is continually linked with a move to the Premier League.

Ozil, meanwhile, has suggested to German publication Kicker that he wants assurances over the future of Arsene Wenger before making a decision on his own future.

The contract of Gunners boss Wenger expires at the end of the season.

“I want to be clear what the manager will be doing in the future. The club knows I am here most of all because of Arsene Wenger,” Ozil is quoted as saying.

“He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have.

“But I am very, very happy at Arsenal and I have let the club know I would be ready to sign a new contract.

“The fans want that I stay, and now it is just down to the club.”
