A depleted Tottenham side missing their key World Cup stars were comfortably beaten 4-1 by Spanish side Girona in their final pre-season friendly.
England quintet Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier and Danny Rose were all missing as was France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Spurs’ Belgian stars as Mauricio Pochettino’s men were brushed aside in Spain despite taking the lead.
Lucas Moura’s fine free-kick into the top corner was cancelled out by Juanpe’s header and Anthony Lozano’s strike made it 2-1 at the break.
Portu and Aleix Garcia were on target in the second half to earn victory for the hosts.
Spurs start their Premier League season away against Newcastle on Saturday.
