West Bromwich Albion are interested in Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer.
The Austrian has started just 13 Premier League matches since arriving in north London from German club Cologne two years ago and his first-team prospects continue to look bleak.
Albion have made enquiries about a number of defenders and are expected to make an offer for Wimmer.
It comes amid reports that Manchester City are pursuing a deal to sign Albion centre-back Jonny Evans despite having a bid for the Northern Ireland international rejected,
Wimmer has also been linked with Stoke City but there was no approach from them.
However, a move to The Hawthorns looks more likely, with the Baggies seemingly keen to snap him up.
Wimmer has made 31 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions and there has been speculation about his future for some time.
He told Austrian media earlier this summer that he was frustrated by his lack of game time at Spurs but would like to stay in the Premier League were he to leave.
