Paper round-up: Tottenham and Man Utd eyeing FCSB forward

Tottenham have joined Manchester United in a race to sign Romania forward Dennis Man, according to The Sun.

The 20-year-old plays for FCSB, the club formerly known as Steaua Bucharest.

The Sun say Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sent a scout to watch him in a game against Viitorul Constanta but the match was called off because of fog.

Man, who can play wide or through the middle, is under contract until 2022. Roma and Fenerbahce are also said to be showing an interest in him.

Spurs and United are also said to be among clubs showing an interest in Lyon’s France midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The Daily Mirror have picked up on reports in France claiming that Spurs, United, Manchester City and Barcelona are keen on the 21-year-old.

Meanwhile, The Times say Spurs are facing a further delay to the opening of their new stadium because of difficulties staging test events over the Christmas period.

The club must hold several events to gain a safety certificate but are apparently struggling to arrange them all in time to meet the preferred opening date of the Premier League game against Manchester United on January 13.

Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri is planning a January move for Leicester’s record signing Islam Slimani, the Daily Telegraph say.

Slimani, who previously played under Ranieri at Leicester, is currently on a season-long loan at Fenerbahce.

The Algeria international has scored just one league goal since his move and the Turkish club are reported to be willing to cut the loan deal short.

The Daily Mail say Fulham have made an enquiry about Deportivo La Coruna’s 19-year-old Portuguese striker Pedro Martelo.

And Chelsea continue to be linked with Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj.

The Mail believe the Blues have held talks with Napoli about signing the Albania international.
