Tottenham and Arsenal both eyeing Germany star

Tottenham and Arsenal are both reportedly interested in Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.

Sky Sports believe the north London clubs are monitoring Ginter, 25, ahead of a possible move.

The Germany international was linked with Spurs prior to joining Monchengladbach from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Spurs and Arsenal are looking for centre-backs ahead of the summer transfer window and both have seemingly identified Ginter as a potential signing,

In the meantime, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted his priority is to address the Gunners’ poor away form.

They are without a win in their last six Premier League matches on the road – a worrying run that has left them trailing in the race for a top-four spot.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Emery said: “My first critic is myself. We can make the top four, but we know it’s not easy.

“We are strong at home, but I think we need to do better away. We started very well, changing our mentality to get more points away. But now we need to recover our confidence and performance.

“Also we know defensively we need to do better. We tried to play with three and two centre-backs. Be passionate, be calm but above all work.”
