Sol Campbell makes prediction about Nicolas Pepe after Arsenal’s draw with Tottenham

Sol Campbell says he has no doubt Nicolas Pepe will score goals for Arsenal.

The summer signing had a frustrating afternoon in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham and has not scored for the Gunners yet.

But former Arsenal and Spurs defender Campbell believes Pepe will go from strength to strength once he gets off the mark.

He showed glimpses of his quality against Spurs and Campbell thinks that was a sign of things to come.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Campbell said: “Pepe didn’t have his shooting boots on today. But you can see the quality there.

“He just needs the last action in the box – to be a bit more cute and have a bit more nous around the box.

“I think once he does that, once he gets his shooting range, he just needs one goal to get him off the blocks and I think he’s going to crack on and be a fantastic player for Arsenal.”

Campbell’s fellow Sky pundit Graeme Souness is also convinced that Pepe will be a huge hit in the Premier League.

“Pepe will be a star in our football. I think he’ll get lots of goals,” said the former Liverpool midfielder.
