Kieran Tripper’s mistake proved costly for Tottenham as they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Wembley.
The result was a big blow to Spurs’ title hopes and continued Trippier’s indifferent form this season.
Trippier made a big impression for England at the World Cup but his club performances since then have attracted some criticism.
That was certainly the case on Twitter after Tottenham’s defeat, with some fans suggesting he no longer deserves to retain his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
