Leeds United set to move for O’s star – Tottenham also keen

Tottenham and Leeds United are interested in Leyton Orient defender Dan Happe.

The 20-year-old centre-back impressed for the O’s last season, playing a key role in their return to the League.

And Leeds are expected to make an offer for Happe, who certainly looked capable of playing at a much higher level while starring for Orient last term.

Tottenham have reportedly already had an offer rejected for the player, while other Premier League clubs are said to be showing an interest in him.

The Sun say Orient turned down a bid of £300,000 plus add-ons from Spurs and that there is also interest from both Leicester and newly-promoted Norwich.

Orient are hoping to land a significantly larger fee than that, particularly as several clubs seem keen to snap him up this summer.

The O’s will also be looking to take Happe back on loan for the coming season as part of any deal to sell him.

Spurs’ interest is in line with their long-standing policy of pursuing talented young English players.
That continued with the recent signing of teenage winger Jack Clarke from Leeds and they are also in negotiations with Fulham over a deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon.
