Full-back scores twice as Tottenham youngsters thrash Swansea

Left-back Tariq Hinds scored twice in the first half an hour of Tottenham Under-18s’4-0 victory over Swansea City at Hotspur Way on Tuesday.

His first goal came on 13 minutes after good work from Samuel Shashoua on the byline, with Hynds curling in from 12 yards.

While he was in the right place at the right time for his first, Hynds’ second was all his own work as he fired in from just outside the penalty area.

Swansea goalkeeper Alex Lang saved from Jack Roles, Keanan Bennetts and Tashan Oakley-Boothe during the first half to keep the score down.

However, it took Spurs just a minute of the second half to score their third. Shashoua’s free-kick was met by centre-half Jonathan Dinzeyi, and the ball broke to Roles who finished.

Before the hour mark, they had added their fourth. Bennetts’ perfectly weighted long pass found Shashoua on the right side of the area, and he finished emphatically.

Meanwhile, Tottenham loanee Ryan Loft scored for Stevenage in a 2-1 friendly defeat to Brentford B.

Loft, who has made five brief substitute appearances for Boro since joining them last month, scored from the spot to level the scores.

The Bees had gone ahead through Reece Cole’s perfectly flighted free-kick and won the match late on thanks to substitute Raphael Assibey-Mensah.
